A Celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2005, at 1:00 p.m., at Southside Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1330 3rd Street, Pastor Kevin Rhamie is officiating and interment will be at a later date on the Island of St. Lucia in the British West Indies. On February 7, 1970, Vadna Dariah was born on the Island of St. Lucia in the British West Indies. At the age of 17 she moved to Bakersfield, CA where she lived with her aunt and uncle, Launda and Gus Pascal. In 1993 she moved out on her own while attending Bakersfield College. She graduated with a degree in Nursing and became a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). She loved her family, and despite the thousands of miles between them, she demonstrated her love by calling daily, sending care packages, and in recent years, taking frequent trips to visit them wherever they lived. In fact, two days before her passing Vadna had just returned from a three week trip to St. Lucia and Trinidad visiting her relatives. She is survived by her parents, Cynthia and Mourice Charles; four sisters, Valerie, Janice, Gail, Kerdin and her brother, Craig; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of family and friends.
