Julies smile and vibrant blue eyes shone with a joy beyond description. Her "How are you?" was accompanied by a sincerity that lead those who encountered her to spill their pain into her caring heart and hands. As a wife, mother, daughter, aunt, sister, nurse and friend, she was on call to whoever needed her healing touch and loving words. Her devotion to others permeated every aspect of her life. From her family and friends to her animals, Mary and Shellie, she cherished everyone. As ASB President at Shafter High School, she met a handsome football player who became her best friend and later her husband. After high school, Julie completed her Associates in Nursing at BC. In 1988, she married her football player, Jeffrey Pankey, and had two wonderful sons, Garrett and Wyatt. Her boys meant the world to her. Jeff and Julie had a special marriage based upon the solid rock of friendship, love, respect and admiration. One who always put her family first, Julie joined the family business, Jerry & Keiths Inc., to strengthen the J&K family and to spend time with her boys. Beyond the material world, Julie and Jeff devoted themselves to bringing others to Jesus through AWANA and other activities. Julie could make any event special a beach trip, a birthday, or a simple visit to her office. She would always have treats to make others feel special. While we know that she is with the Lord, we will never be the same. Those left behind to join her later include her treasured husband, Jeff and her cherished sons, Garrett and Wyatt, The Regulars: her mom and dad, Nadine Granny and Keith Papa Decker; her mother and father-in-law, Sandy Nana and Gary Papaw Pankey; grandmothers, Molly Mamo Thomas, Mardiva G.G.
