Sarah Ann Dickerson Caldwell 
Dec. 30, 1917 - May 12, 2005 

A funeral service celebrating the life of Sarah Ann Dickerson Caldwell, 87, 
will be held on Friday, May 20, 2005, 1:00 p.m., at New Life Center Church, 
4201 Stine Rd. Pastor Judy Jenkins officiating. Sarah Dickerson was born in 
Bedford, Virginia, on December 30, 1917 to the proud parents of Oatis and 
Rogila Dickerson. Sarah was the second of three children. At an early age 
Sarah dedicated her life to Christ and has continued to serve as a faithful 
disciple of Christ. In 1944, Sarah married David Caldwell and to this union 
two children were born Glen and Peter Caldwell. Sara Dickerson Caldwell has 
lived in Bakersfield, CA for over 40 years. She was best known for her 
dedication to helping others in need and her sewing abilities, which she 
passed down to her grandchildren, Kimberly and Melissa. Sarah Dickerson 
Caldwell is survived by her sons, Peter and Glen Caldwell; grandchildren, 
Kimberly and Melissa Preston; eight great-grand-children who she loved dearly; 
nieces, nephews, loving relatives, friends and her church at Good Shepard 
Church of Christ. Sarah is preceded in death by her father, Oatis Dickerson; 
mother, Rogila Dickerson English; sister, Anner Lee Swain and brother, Henry 
William Dickerson.
