Vada B. Dickinson Services: Thurs., July 28, 1:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 28, at 1:30 p.m. at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Chapel, 2739 Panama Ln. Chaplain Bob Letrick and Reverend Tim Collins will officiate. Vada B. Dickinson passed away after a brief illness on July 25, 2005. She peacefully slipped away to join her husband, Tom Dickinson, and her youngest daughter, Teresa Ann Clark. Mrs. Dickinson leaves behind a loving family who were with her when she passed away. Those who will miss her more than words can say will be her only sister, Ramona Swarts and her husband Bill; her son, Bruce Honor and wife, Cindy; her two daughters, Paula Reyes and husband Sal, and Charolette Ybarra and her husband, John. The grandson she raised from the age of eight, Ian Puckett (after the death of his mother, Teresa Ann) will miss the powerful influence in his life more than we will ever know. She also leaves behind many grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Last but not least, she leaves behind her beloved pet, Chichi. Vada was well known in the hospitality industry in Bakersfield for many years. She was instrumental in opening many restaurants and bringing them up to her very high standards that she was so well known for. She later changed her focus to the real estate industry and flourished in that profession. In passing, Vada will leave a massive abyss that simply cannot be filled by anyone. Saying she will be missed, will never cover the loss her family feels as she completes her final journey with her Savior, Jesus Christ. Visitation will be held on July 28th from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Greenlawn Southwest Mortuary Funeral Directors Legacy.com Published in the Bakersfield Californian on 7/27/2005.
