Lerdo Hwy. Shafter), on Friday, March 11, 2005, from 2- 8pm. A graveside service will be held at Shafter Memorial Park at 2 p.m., on Saturday, March 12, 2005, with a Memorial Celebration service immediately following at the Shafter First Southern Baptist Church (250 Kern St.). Pastors Jim Williams and Lloyd Gardner will officiate. Katherine Tina was born in Aberdeen, Saskatchewan, Canada on April 4, 1913, to Henry and Justina (Siemens) Dueck. At the age of seven she moved with her family to Shafter where she would grow up to marry and raise a family. Katherine married John H. Neufeld of Reedley, CA at the Mennonite Brethren Church of Shafter on April 30, 1933. Katherine Tina was a homemaker all of her adult life. She raised four children and was always active in her church, especially teaching and showing children the love of God. Even in her 80s she came to listen to children say their Bible verses at AWANA. Her faith and love in our Lord Jesus has been a continuing inspiration to her friends and family. Katherine was preceded in death in 1996, by her husband of 62 years, John; and her grandson, David. She is survived by her daughters, Esther Eidsen and husband, Eddie of Sebastopol, CA; Mary Gardner and husband, Lloyd of Tollhouse, CA; Helen Neufeld of Shafter; son, John Neufeld and wife, Susan of Shafter; sisters, Ella Bergman of Shafter and Susie Wohlgemuth of Wasco, CA; 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
