The Reverend Dale Bethell of First Baptist Church in Fresno will officiate. Master of the Masonic Bakersfield Lodge 224 Paul Owens and Chaplain Lee Olson will preside. Kenny was born on November 30, 1913 to Ross and Viola Duncan in Weir, Kansas, the third of three children. In 1929 the family moved to Bakersfield, where he attended Kern County Union High School (now B.H.S.) Kenny married his lifelong partner, Verona, in 1939 to whom he was truly dedicated. In his early years he worked as a production supervisor at Mongersons Electrical Machine Works. During the 50s and early 60s he was Executive Vice President of Transonic, Inc., a major manufacturer of transformers. He partnered in 1964 to form Metal Tek Company and continued as co-owner with his wife, Verona, son, Gary and daughter-in-law, Claudia until his retirement at age 85. He was a member of the Bakersfield Masonic Lodge 224 and continued on to the 32nd Degree Mason in Scottish Rite. He was also a member of BPOE Lodge 266 where he always looked forward to the Sir Luncheons. As an active member of the Bakersfield Classic Thunderbirds Kenny derived great joy in maintaining and driving his 1957 T-Bird. Kenny was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Verona; brother, Dale Duncan and sister, Mary Lee Mundel. He is survived by his son, Gary and his wife, Claudia of Bakersfield; three grandchildren, Debbie Hodge and husband, David of Fresno; Denise Smith and husband Geoff, and Kevin Duncan all of Bakersfield; three great-grandchildren, Allison and Sean Hodge and Conner Smith. Our thanks to the many people who loved and shared in Kennys life, especially these past few years, he truly was a blessing to all. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, P.O. Box 70038, Bakersfield, CA 93387.
