William Junis Edmonds 
April 7, 1935 - Feb. 11, 2006 
Services: Sat., Feb. 18, 11:00 a.m. 

Visitation begins today Friday, February 17th, from 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m. A 
hour of meditation will be held tonight from 5:00 7:00 p.m. in the Jesse E. 
Cooley, Jr. Chapel for William Junis Edmonds, 70, who passed away February 
11th, 2006. Services are Saturday, February 18th, 11:00 a.m., at St. John 
Missionary Baptist Church, 1401 E. Brundage Lane. Officiating will be Dr. 
Tyree Toliver, Pastor. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery. William Junis 
Edmonds was born in Manhattan, New York and had resided in Bakersfield for 
many years. William a veteran of the U.S. National Guard 639th Infantry Unit, 
served until 1955. After completing his assignment he was transferred to 
Edwards Air Force Base where he later retired. William was known for his 
pleasant personality and for the good barbecue he served in his café. He 
leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Willie Mae Edmonds; daughter, 
Valerie Renee; sons, Billy Edmonds, Jr., Darrell Eugene Edmonds, Robert 
(Latonia) Swift, Fred (Brenda) Orange, Michael (Tori) Leftwich; many grand and 
great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Jesse E. Cooley, Jr.
