Orleen S. Eide 
Oct. 31, 1923 - Sept. 11, 2005 

Orleen "Ole" S. Eide, born October 31, 1923, passed away in Bakersfield on 
September 11, 2005. Ole was born in Ryder, North Dakota, to Norwegian 
immigrant parents. He graduated from the University of North Dakota and was a 
Navy veteran of WWII where he served his country in the South Pacific. Ole 
moved to Bakersfield with his family in 1968. He worked for the federal 
government for 30 years as an IRS agent and auditor for the Department of 
Energy. He is survived by Virginia, his loving wife of 58 years; three 
daughters and a son-in-law, Mary and Bill Riservato of Temecula, California, 
Donna Eide of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Nina Ballantine of Bakersfield, 
California. He was preceded in death by his son, Charles, and two brothers and 
one sister. He is also survived by four sisters and a brother. Ole had a 
wonderful sense of humor and fair play. He loved his family, sports, exercise, 
and hard work and was proud of his children and his Norwegian heritage. 
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Optimal Hospice or the 
Salvation Army. No services.
