Bernabe was born March 26, 1937 in Tamaulipas, Mexico and he passed away October 25, 2005 in Bakersfield, California with his family by his side. Bernabe is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Concepcion Elizondo; brothers, Manuel and Jose Elizondo and infant son, Jesus Manuel Elizondo. He is survived by his loving wife, Justina Elizondo; son and daughter-in-law, Bernabe Jr. and Hermilinda Elizondo; daughter and son-in-law, Ramona and Fermin Hernandez; daughter, Nora Padron; daughter and son-in-law, Justina and Daniel Cardenas; 19 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother and sister- in-law, Filomeno and Guadalupe Elizondo; sister and brother-in-law, Benilde and Epifanio Rendon; sister, Estella Elizondo as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bernabe was a good husband and father. He was always singing or whistling and he enjoyed listening to Spanish country and mariachi music. Bernabe had a lot of friends who enjoyed his company and he was always helping them with their mechanic work. He was a very good mechanic. He could diagnose a problem usually just by hearing the engine. In spite of the tragic loss of his legs he overcame his diabetes and he lived to enjoy another 13 years.
