Ellis June 19, 1924 - Dec. 28, 2005 Services will be held Saturday, December 31st, 2005, 10:00 a.m., at Stine Road Baptist Church. Jim Ellis was born in Pleasanton, Kansas, to parents, Claude and Alma Ellis, and was the eldest child of a large family of four brothers and two sisters. Jim met Bowden at a boarding house in Wichita, KS. They married five months later on March 27, 1943. Their marriage has always been filled with love and laughter, as everyone who knows them will agree. Jim served in the United States Navy in WWII aboard the aircraft carrier, USS White Plains in the Pacific. They celebrated their 61st anniversary, before the love of his life preceded him in death on April 19, 2004. Jim was an active member of the Stine Road Baptist Church. Jim will always be remembered as a loving Christian husband, father, and friend who always knew the perfect thing to do and say in his quiet way. The family has been truly blessed by the friendships made as a result of this ministry. Jim is survived by three children, daughter, Sharon and husband, Jerry Gollehon of Bakersfield; son, Kenneth and wife, Pam of Fairview, OK; and son, Kevin and wife, Nancy of Magnolia, TX; sister, Vera Hall; brother, Tom Ellis and wife, Theresa; sisters- in-law, Dorrene Ellis, Deena Ellis; brother-in-law, Bob West; seven beautiful grandchildren and seven wonderful great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Alma Ellis; sister, Doris West; brothers, Dale Ellis and Clayton Ellis and brother-in-law, Cecil Hall.
