Richard was born August 22, 1919 in San Antonio, Texas and he passed away January 22, 2006 in Bakersfield, California with his family by his side. He is preceded in death by his son, Frederick Escobar. He is survived by his loving wife, Maxine Escobar; sons, Frank and Floyd Escobar; son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Sue Barber; son, Stephen Wilson; daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Charles Shaw, Diane and Terry Story, Pam and Lemar Luke and Robin and Roukoz Elkhouri; brother, Robert Escobar; sisters, Ninfa Fregosa, Elvira Rangel and Esther Alonzo; sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Mike Rangel; 18 grandchildren and numerous great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Richard enjoyed barbeques in the back yard with his family and friends. He loved traveling and camping and he always did the cooking. He always looked forward to taking all his grandkids fishing. He enjoyed his fruit and vegetable gardens which he donated most of the crops to those in need. Richard was the past governor for the Loyal Order of the Moose of Santa Barbara and he was a member of the V.F.W., Elks Lodge and the Disabled American Veterans.
