Interment will follow at Greenlawn Southwest Cemetery, 2739 Panama Lane, in Bakersfield. Gary was born to Joseph and Frances Eyraud, both preceding him in death. He grew up the youngest of five siblings on the Eyraud family farm off Wible and Stine Road in Bakersfield, CA. He attended Panama Elementary School and graduated from West High School in 1972. He went on to proudly serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army in 1973. His passions in life were family, friends, fishing, the all-American game of baseball and annual gambling trips to Elko, Nevada. He was an avid fan of the San Francisco Giants and found joy in umpiring for local high schools in the Marysville area. He also loved a good game of poker with family and friends. Gary was known for his great sense of humor and everyone will miss the sound of his laughter. The family mourns his passing but celebrates his life and is comforted by memories of him. Gary is survived by his two sons, Chad Eyraud of Las Vegas, Nevada and Cody Eyraud of Marysville, CA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Craig and Kristen Eyraud of Las Vegas; his siblings, Edith Pascoe of Pismo Beach, Emily Blue and husband, Donald of Palos Verdes, Edward Eyraud and wife, Patricia of Bakersfield, Joseph A. Eyraud Jr. and wife, Carol of Bakersfield; and stepmother, Edna Eyraud of Bakersfield. His nieces and nephews are too numerous to mention but their lives have been touched by his presence and his smile will never be forgotten. The family would like to express their gratitude for the compassionate care Gary received from the Mercy Hospital staff and ICU #1, Sister Mary Ann, and a special thank you to Dr. Hansa and Dr. Kazmi. Pallbearers are Kydaran Pascoe, Eric Eyraud, Donald Wilson, Don Carlon, Wesley Shackleford and Jim Glover. Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews, Evan Eyraud, Brett Eyraud, Grant Eyraud and Aaron Eyraud. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Liver Foundation, 75 Maiden Lane, Suite 603, New York, NY 10038, or a charity of your choice. No visitation is scheduled.
