Marjorie Glendening 
July 15, 1917 - October 25, 2005 

Marjorie Lillian Glendening was born at Mercy Hospital in Bakersfield on July 
15, 1917 to her parents, Leo and Dessie Fedewa. She grew up in Fellows and 
attended St. Marys Primary School, Taft High School and graduated from Taft 
Junior College with an Associate of Arts Degree. Marjorie went to work at 
Mercy Hospital where she lived while working in the nursery and later the 
accounts receivable department. She then went to work for the County of Kern 
Accounting Department from which she retired after 27 years of service. 
Marjorie is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, Roger; daughter, 
Patricia Ann and husband, Marlin Duncan; seven grandchildren, Bernadette and 
husband, Mark Maleski, Anthony, Stephen, Andrew, Isabelle, Louis and Marie-
Adelaide; brother and sister-in-law, Leo and Joy Fedewa of Taft; sisters, 
Betty Thomas, Barbara Farnsworth, Mary Prewitt and brother-in-law, Ralph 
Prewitt, all of Bakersfield; cousin, Charles Lynch and wife, Eva, also of 
Bakersfield and numerous nieces and nephews. Marjorie loved her faith, country 
and family. She died in the peace of Christ on October 25, 2005. The Mass of 
Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and 
interment followed at Union Cemetery.
