John ‘Jack’ Fenwick

Feb. 12, 1934 – March 3, 2006

John Allen Fenwick, better known as Jack to his many friends, was born on Feb. 
12, 1934 in Baltimore, Md. He passed away on March 3, 2006 at the age of 72 in 
Bakersfield after a valiant struggle and much suffering during the past three 
years.

In 1957, Jack married the love of his life, Carol Boyce, in Encino. Jack 
served his country during the Korean War, enlisting in the U.S. Navy. Shortly 
after returning home, he joined the Los Angeles County Fire Department. He 
served at many stations and attained the rank of captain. He retired in 1990 
after 32 years of dedicated duty.

Jack was a loving and caring family man and a good friend. While his children 
were growing up, they took many family vacations. Jack was always involved and 
helped with their activities. After the children were grown, he and Carol 
enjoyed traveling and visiting their San Simeon townhouse by the sea.

One of Jack’s favorite pastimes was riding his horse along the Bear Valley 
Springs equestrian trails. This was especially true in the early years when 
there were fewer people and his dogs could go with him. 

He will be greatly missed.

Jack is survived by his wife, Carol of Bear Valley Springs; son, Robert 
Fenwick and wife Kay of Bakersfield; daughter, Suzanne Fenwick of Stevenson 
Ranch; grandchildren, Jenell and Royce Fenwick of Bakersfield; and brother, 
John Daniel Lloyd of Street, Md.

A gathering for Jack’s friends may be held at a future date. 

Wood Family Funeral Service handled the cremation arrangements.
