Mervyn was born to Wilbur and Flora Ford in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He was raised on a farm in Fergus, Ontario, where he worked, in addition to working at a factory where he learned to be a tool and die maker. While working as a tool and die maker in Toronto, he met his wife, Ann Sura. They were married in 1943 and bought a small dairy farm in Fergus. In 1957, he sold the farm and moved his family to California, living in Whittier until 1968, then in Brea until his retirement in 1986. Mervyn and his wife bought a lot in Bear Valley Springs where they built a home and moved to in 1988. After retirement, Mervyn loved to work in his garden. He supplied many people with vegetables. Mervyn loved to work, period. He worked more hours in his lifetime than anyone can imagine. Of course, he had eight children to raise and we are grateful for his work ethics. Thanks, Dad. We love you and you will be missed dearly. Mervyn is survived by daughter, Rebecca Baca of Tehachapi; sons, Larry M. Ford and his wife Cathy of Las Vegas, Nev.; Daniel W. Ford and his wife Nona of Tehachapi; Rickman T. Ford and his wife Linda of Brea; and Cameron E. Ford of Ontario, Canada; grandchildren, Debora, Deana, Penny, Chelly, Carly, Farah, Jasmine and Aaron; step-grandchildren, Curt, Randy, Cheryl and Stacey; great- grandchildren, Miles, Hunter, Julia, Elise, Cristian, Ashley, Marina, Haley, Anthony, Aarik, Tanner, Brittany, Candice, Cherish, Colt and Dylan; sisters, Margret Cameron, Essie Utley, Betty Ostic and her husband Ivan, all of Fergus, Ontario, Canada; and Helen Lowe of Ajax, Ontario, Canada.
