Eddie went home to meet the Lord November 22, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. Born in Phoenix, Arizona, one of nine children graduating from B.H.S. He served proudly in the U.S. Marine Corp in the Korean War. He returned to Bakersfield and went to Bakersfield College, then he worked for the Kern County Fire Department. He sold real estate for Century 21 and became a loan officer for Westchester Funding. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him; he brought joy and laughter to everyone. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Jeanne; his brothers, Jimmie and Leck of Bakersfield; his son, Les Franks of Manhattan, N.Y.; his daughter, Cindy Cook of Placerville, CA; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Sarah and William; brothers, Edward, David and Jerry; sisters, Eva and Zeck Swartz and Genevieve Walters. Pallbearers will be Don Franks, Greg Franks, Darrell Franks, Rommel Givens, Angel Figueroa, Bob Guill, Robert Sander and Charan Sihota. Honorary pallbearers will be Gale Hammett and Jack Doremus. Eddies celebration of life will be Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. in the Valley Baptist Church, 4800 Fruitvale Avenue with Eulogies delivered by Jack Doremus and Bob Guill. Officiating will be Rev. Larry Wood. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Veterans Hill of Valor with U.S. Marine Corp Honor Guard honoring his service with the U.S. Marine Corp. with full Military Rites.
