Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 27, at St. Joseph's Church, 1515 Baker St. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Father Robert Wenzinger will officiate. Bertha was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, compassion and unconditional love. Bertha was born in Paris, Arkansas on June 30, 1918, to Arthur and Ida Ruesch. She moved to Bakersfield in 1950 and was employed as a grocery clerk until retiring in 1980. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends. For many years she attended Mass at St. Joseph's Church several times a week. Bertha is survived by her daughter, Mary (Susie) Pearson and husband, Dell of Bakersfield; son, William Freeman of Gustine, CA; brother, Carl Fetzner and wife, Maria of Aguanga, CA and numerous loving grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, March 26, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Bertha L.
