Fabela (Mundo) Services: Fri., Sept. 9, 9:00 a.m. Edmond (El Mundo) R. Fabela was 60 years old when he was called to the Lord on Saturday, September 3, 2005, at 11:24 a. m. A celebration of life with Rosary and Mass will take place Friday, September 9, 2005, at 9:00 a.m. at San Clemente Mission at 1305 Water St. Mundo was born on December 1, 1944, in Ballinger, Texas, to Andres and Olivia Fabela. He immigrated to Bakersfield, California in 1963, where he resided for 42 years. Mundo had many occupations such as working for Pacific Southern Foundries, Mossite Guitars and Griffin Construction. Due to illness he retired in 1983. After retirement Mundo continued his education by taking art classes and cooking classes. He also volunteered his time in the classroom with his wife, Dory. Mundo had a zest for life and enjoyed many things such as fishing, water and snow skiing, traveling, dining out and watching movies. He will be greatly missed by his entire family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Andres; mother, Olivia; brother, Manuel and sister, Josefa Garcia. His is survived by his loving wife, Dory Lomas; son, Andrew Fabela and wife, Lucia; daughter, Patricia Washington and husband, Randy; one granddaughter, Rachel Washington. Also by his sister and husband, Elvira and Robert Rodriguez; sister, Margie Acosta and numerous nieces and nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers a donation to the American Diabetes Association or American Lung Association in Edmond Fabelas memory is appreciated. There is no visitation scheduled.
