Our beloved Eloisa F. Mota in faith lived a life of selfless love. She was affectionately known as Locha by friends and family. Born to Pedro Fernandez and Petra A. Fernandez on December 31, 1912 in Zaragoza Coahuila, Mexico. Her role as a caretaker started at a young age. Her nurturing ways blossomed when she became her grandmothers little helper. Being the eldest of 8 children she was often given the responsibility of taking care of her younger siblings. Locha was a loving, talented, hardworking and passionate faithful servant of Jehovah God. She worked as a teacher in Mexico and was an excellent seamstress. A new chapter opened when she married Gilberto Mota on January 14, 1937. Soon after marriage they moved to the United States and started their family of six children in Buttonwillow, California. Years later they relocated to Bakersfield, California. Locha was preceded in death by her husband, Gilberto Mota; her daughter, Glenda Mota; her brother-in-law, Jaciento (Chinto) Mota; her brothers, Camdelario (Lalo) Fernandez, Pedro Fernandez; her sisters, Eustolia Fernandez Salinas, Herminia Fernandez Gomez; and her grandson, Ronaldo (Ronnie) Mota II. She is survived by her children, Gilbert Mota Jr., Nancy Mota Navarro, Doreen Elias, Edgar Mota, and Ronaldo Mota; her grandchildren include Ana Murphy, Lisa Cruz, Gilbert A. Mota, Jason Elias, Mario Mota, Andrew Mota, Manejé Erickson, Alysia Mota, Melissa Brown, Edgar Mota, Esteban Mota, Monét Padilla and Gabriela Mota. She was also blessed with the following great-grand-children, Ashlee Mota, Mykiah Mota, Kodey Henson, Jaycee Cruz, Mathew Murphy, Alexa Brown, Linnea Elias, Sadie Elias and Zachary Murphy; her brothers, Jose (Pepe) Fernandez and Miguel Fernandez; her sister, Eudelia (Lela) Garza. She touched many throughout her life by always giving the best she had to friends, family, and the less fortunate. She devoted many hours to gathering items for the family trips to Mexico that were centered on giving to those in need. Our mother and grandmother is dearly missed and her memory is forever etched into our hearts until the day we see her again.
