Joe meritoriously served his country in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1950 aboard the carrier USS Saratoga CV3. Joe was a veteran photographer in the Pacific Theatre of World War II. He was very decorated and some of his prestigious awards included George Washington’s Purple Heart, World War II Victory Medal and Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal. KTLA Channel 5 in Los Angeles later employed Joe from 1951 to 1993 as a senior stage supervisor. For 31 years Joe and his wife Betty resided in Thousand Oaks. On retirement, Joe and Betty moved to Bear Valley Springs, from 1993 until 1997. From 1997 to 2005, Joe lived happily in Henderson, Nev. Joe is survived by his wife of 51 years, Elizabeth Hazel Fetherston; son, John Adams and wife Gloria; daughter, Rebecca Wade and husband Donald Wade Jr.; son, Eric Fetherston and wife Gina Fetherston; grandsons, Brian Adams, Donald Wade III, Dustin Wade and wife Sarah, Brendon Wade and Shane Fetherston; great- grandson Tyler Wade and great-granddaughters Kelsey Wade and Skylar Wade. A memorial service will be held to celebrate the life of Joseph Fetherston at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Henderson, Nev., at 2 p.m. on July 30. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to a memorial fund at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, 43 W Pacific Ave., Henderson, NV 89015.
