Gertrude Frieda Fjelstrom
Dec. 23, 1924 – July 21, 2005

A memorial funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, July 28, at 7 p.m. at 
the Tehachapi Seventh Day Adventist Church for Gertrude Frieda Fjelstrom, 80, 
of Bear Valley Springs. Gertrude passed away at her home on July 21, 2005.

Trudy was born in Hall, Tirol, Austria, but lived in Lindau, Germany by Lake 
Constance until she was 5 years old. Then her parents moved her back to 
Austria where she remained until she, her husband and daughter came to the 
United States in 1953 via the boat Castel Bianco.

She lost her husband but then remarried Doug Fjelstrom, an electrician, and 
lived in Glendale for 44 years.

She was widowed again in 2003, then decided to live with her daughter Heidi 
and her husband Marty in Tehachapi, where she enjoyed the past year being 
cared for and loved until she passed away after a long illness.

She will be missed as she has made many new friends in Tehachapi.

She is survived by her daughter, Heidi; grandchildren, David, Tina and 
Christopher; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Kylie, Brandon, Karston and Tessa; 
and two brothers, Fritz in Austria and Andreas in Sweden.

“We love you so much, our Mutti and our Omi.”

A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, July 29, at 10:30 a.m. at 
Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale.

Pastor Erwin Joham will officiate at both services.

Wood Family Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
