He was born in Depew, Oklahoma and migrated to California at the age of 15. Elmer was very proud of being a World War II Army Veteran and he was a dedicated employee of ARCO, retiring after 38 years of service. Elmer is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor and 3 daughters, Twyla Jamerson, Carol Finch and Beulah Johnson and husband, Daryl Johnson. He is also survived by sisters, Pearl Brown, Joyce Burgess and husband Olen Burgess, Thelma Dean Rowland; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grand-children. Elmer was preceded in death by his only son, David, and his brother, Bill Flanagan. Elmer is remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to all.
