Edwin C. Flory 
Nov. 13, 1913 - July 19, 2005 

Ed was born in Fort Worth, Texas, but as a young boy came to reside in 
southern California and later in Bakersfield, California. He was a graduate of 
Santa Maria High School and also Cal Poly Technical Univrsity, mastering the 
trade of electrical engineering, which eventually led him to establishing his 
own businesses in United Refrigeration of Bakersfield and Metal Tech and also 
Florys Liquor Store in Lamont. Widowed by his wife, Ida Rule Flory as a young 
man and raising their two children, Jerry Flory and Sandy Flory Morris, he 
came to meet and marry Rebecca Jeanne West Herndon also with two children, 
Dennis (Deni) Herndon Francis and Robert (Chip) Herndon and they later had a 
son, Bradley West Flory. Ed will be most remembered as a loving husband, dad, 
father-in-law, uncle, cousin, grandpa, great-grandpa and great-great-grandpa, 
and true friend to many.
