Ygnacio (Nacho) Fontes 
10/13/1927 - 8/24/2005 

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at Peters Funeral Home for Ygnacio 
Fontes, age 77, on Monday, August 29, 2005, at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian 
Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 30, 2005, at 10:00 a.m., with 
Father Pedro Umana officiating. Interment will be at Wasco Memorial Park. 
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 28, 2-8 p.m., and Monday, August 29, 10 
a.m. 8 p.m. Casketbearers will be Arnold Fontes, Teddy Fontes, Rodney Fontes, 
Raul Rubio, Desmond Lopez, and Patrick Carrasco. Ygnacio better known as Nacho 
was born in Coolidge, Arizona; he came to Buttonwillow as a young boy and 
attended the local school. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed 
his job as a farm hand for many years and enjoyed being outside in the open 
air. He loved to listen to country and western music. Nacho leaves behind his 
dancing partner and wife of 58 years, Aurora of Buttonwillow; sons, Arnold and 
wife, Sabrina, Teddy and wife, Debbie; Ignacio Jr. all of Bakersfield, Rodney 
of Buttonwillow; daughters, Mary Lou Carrasco of Bakersfield, Ida and husband, 
David Lopez of Bakersfield and Mary Helen and husband, Raul Rubio of 
McKittrick; and many grandkids, great- grandkids, great-great-grandkids, and 
great-great- great-grandkids. Ygnacios family wishes to give a big Thanks to 
all who participated in the search for our loving husband and dad. No words 
can ever express how much your thoughtfulness meant to us. May God be with you 
always.
