Ernest Formhals 
October 20, 1942 - May 23, 2005 

A celebration of life memorial will be held for Ernie Formhals on June 2, 
2005, at 1 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Bakersfield, CA. Ernie was born 
October 20, 1942, in Louisville, Kentucky, to parents, Ernest Chick and 
Margaret Ann Mooch Formhals. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Wanda 
Faye Routon Formhals; his five children, Daniel Eugene Formhals, Cheryl Denise 
Sis Pumphrey, Gary Patrick Formhals, Melanie Majel Formhals, and Kristi 
Laurelle Wilson; his seven grandchildren, Natasha, Marie Tavarez, Nicole 
Denise Pumphrey, Ashlee Rae Formhals, Chandler Michelle Formhals, Davin James 
Wilson, Quinton Jacob Wilson, and Mohini Majel Formhals; one great grandchild, 
Madison Denise Tavarez; and two surrogate children, Lulu and Yodo. He was 
preceded in death by his brother, Walter Ray Slug Formhals; and sister, Betty 
Leigh McDonald. His surviving sisters are Iris June Hoagland and Michelle 
Yates; his surviving nieces and nephews are Margaret Lynn Brown, Mary Beth 
Missy Hoagland, Vicki Jackson, Angie Haun, Tammie Harding, Bobbi Edwards, 
Andrea Arnold, and Perry Hoagland. Ernie especially enjoyed telling jokes, 
playing the guitar and singing, reading, cooking, golfing, fishing, traveling, 
and spending time with his family and friends. A heartfelt thanks is sent to 
everyone for all of their prayers, cards, e-mails, and calls of love and 
support throughout Ernies illness and subsequent lung transplant.
