Carolyn Shigeko Holmes 
Nov. 30, 1943 - Aug.12, 2005 

Services will be held on Friday, August 19, 2005, at 1:00 p.m., in Los 
Angeles, at Rosehills Cemetery in the Memorial Chapel. Carolyn was born on 
November 30, 1943 to Carl and Martha Fujii. She was raised in Los Angeles 
where she later came to meet her loving husband of 38 years, Richard Holmes. 
In the early years of marriage, they traveled overseas as part of his position 
with a large oil company. Everything changed during the summer of 1974 and 
their small family grew as a delighted Carolyn gave birth to their only child, 
Jason. Life continued to take them around the world until finally they settled 
into a home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Once their son graduated from high school, 
family circumstances brought them back to Bakersfield, California where 
Carolyn resided until her unexpected and tragic passing. Carolyn was a caring 
woman, wife, mother, and friend. Throughout her life she found joy in giving 
unconditional love and support to her family. Carolyn is survived by her 
husband, Richard Holmes; her son, Jason Holmes; her mother, Martha Fujii and 
many other devoted family members and friends. We will deeply miss her and 
forever be changed by those moments in which Carolyns beautiful spirit was so 
inspirational.
