Enrique Zavala Gaitan Sr. 
July 7, 1923 - November 7, 2005 

Recitation of the Rosary will be held today Wednesday, November 9, at 6:00 
p.m. and graveside services will be on Thursday, November 10, at 10:00 a.m. 
both at Greenlawn Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 3700 River Blvd., for Enrique 
Zavala Gaitan Sr., 82, who passed away November 7, 2005, in Bakersfield. 
Enrique was born on July 7, 1923, in Kyle, Texas and resided in Kern County 
for 20 years. He also lived in Hollister, California for a number of years. He 
was a farm laborer for 30 years, and was a member of the United Farm Workers. 
Enrique is survived by his wife, Joaquina Aida Gaitan of Bakersfield; son and 
daughter-in-law, Miguel and Eva Gaitan of Hollister; daughters, Leticia and 
husband, Bernie Quintana of Arizona, Elva Gaitan of Arizona and Rosie Guzman 
and husband, Rick of Bakersfield; 15 grandchildren and seven great-
grandchildren also by brothers and sisters in Bakersfield, Texas, Michigan and 
Mexico. Enrique was preceded in death by his sons, Rick Jr., and Elias Gaitan 
and parents, Lucio and Felipa Gaitan, and two sisters. Visitation begins today 
at 3:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Mortuary.
