Father Craig will officiate. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Southwest, 2739 Panama Lane, Bakersfield. Mary Alvernaz Geyer was born August 17, 1925, in Livingston, CA and was raised in Merced County. Mary worked for Pacific Bell in Modesto, Merced and retired in Bakersfield after 24 years of service. Mary was an active member of the Telephone pioneers. Mary also belonged to SPRSI and DAR. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Geyer; her daughter, Tamara Toy and brothers, Art Alvernaz and John Alvernaz. Mary is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Tony Huber of Cool, CA; daughter, Kathy Hays of Bakersfield; daughter and son-in-law, Rena and Rad Zard of Bakersfield; daughter and son-in- law, Gina and David Kaake, Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Kari Davenport of Sacramento; stepson and wife, Kurt and Cindy Geyer of Bakersfield; stepdaughter and husband, Mindy and Don Wilson of Southern California and stepdaughter, Paula and husband of Washington state. Mary is survived by her brother, Joseph Alvernaz of Livingston and sister, Ce Luker of Atwater. Mary is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Mary was a generous soul and enjoyed all her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society or a charity of your choice. After the services a celebration of Marys life will be held at her daughter Kathys home in Bakersfield.
