Wilson C. Gilliam (Bill) 
Services: Sat., Dec. 17, 11:00 a.m. 

Graveside service will be held Saturday, December 17, 2005, at 11:00 a.m., at 
Joshua Memorial Park & Mortuary, 808 E. Lancaster Blvd., Lancaster for Wilson 
(Bill) C. Gilliam, 89, of Bakersfield, California, who passed away in his home 
December 11, 2005. Bill is survived by his daughters, Patricia Ward, Wilma 
Downs and son, Bill Gilliam. Pop, as he was affectionately known, was the 
proud grandfather of 8 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 12 great-
great-grandchildren. Bill is preceded in death by his loving wife, Lillian, 
Memo of 58 years. Bill raised his family in Kern County. Beginning in Wasco in 
1940, Rosamond, 1953-1975 and then in 1976 he moved to Bakersfield. Bill was a 
simple man but was very quick-witted and given the opportunity had a response 
for everything. He nicknamed himself CAT 1 after his love to operate heavy 
equipment for his son, Bill. He operated equipment right up until he was 
physically unable. Since then, he has been a fixture at the office on Rosedale 
Hwy. Reviewing applicants and watching over his girls. He will be deeply 
missed by his family and the girls in the office who loved to spoil and pamper 
him. Visitation begins Friday, December 16th, from 4-8 p.m., at Mish Funeral 
Home, 120 Minner Ave., in Oildale, California.
