"Don" 1922 - 2006 George D. Glenn (Don) 11/24/1922 - 1/15/2006 A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, January 19th, 4:00 p.m., at St. Philip The Apostle Church, 7100 Stockdale Hwy., Bakersfield, California. George was born in Fellows and raised in Taft. He joined the Air Force in World War II serving in the China, Burma, India area. After his service he became a Kern County Fireman for five years. He married Thelma Ramos celebrating a union of 56 years. George transferred to Kern County Sheriffs Department serving patrol in many areas and became in charge of Property, Transportation and Bailiff assignments. He retired at age 53 and enjoyed retirement with his many hobbies and his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Italian Catholic Federation Branch 281, a lifetime member of American Legion and a member of the local branch of CBI, ex-participants of China, Burma, India. Beloved husband of Thelma Glenn and father of Dennis Glenn; granddaughter, Crystal; daughter, Diane Weitzel; grandson, Jason Weitzel and wife, Kathrin; great-granddaughters, Marisa and Chelsea; daughter, Gerry Richardson and husband, Dennis Richardson, granddaughter, Robin Richardson. At this time the family wishes to thank some special people at Optimal Hospice. Claudia, Sonia, Marian, Kelli, Kathleen, Andrea, Jennifer, Dr. Talieh and Dr. Ju Huan Lee for their kindness and compassion. A special thank you to Cathy Glenn, for always being there when we needed you. In lieu of flowers a donation to Optimal Hospice would be so appreciated in Georges name.
