He went to be with our Lord on January 29, 2006. He was surrounded by his family when he passed. He leaves his wife, Phyllis of 49 years; son, Bill Goessman and his wife, Candy; daughter, Kathleen Yale and husband, Kirk, children, Kirk Jr., Keaton, and Kase and daughter, Teri Doty and husband, Rob, children, Lauren and Megan. He also leaves many friends and relatives. He was every mans friend and always ready to help. He always took the time to listen and was a strong shoulder to lean on. Ray and Phyllis made their home in Bakersfield for 25 years. He and his partner owned and operated their business, Barnett Tire, 98 Oak St. He moved to Bear Valley Springs in the year 2000 to enjoy his retirement. He was a pillar in his church and a mentor to many. He especially loved music, oil painting, sports, traveling and has always had an unending sense of humor. We will all remember his wonderful smile and the twinkle in his eye. He will be forever in our hearts and greatly missed. WE LOVE YOU DAD Memorial services will be held Friday, February 3rd, 10:00 a.m., at the First Congregational Church of Bakersfield, 5 Real Road and 2:00 p.m., at the Tehachapi Community Congregational Church, 100 East E Street, in Tehachapi. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Lung Association or the Heifer Project through the Congregational Church would be appreciated.
