He acquired his education from New York University, the American Institute of Banking and The National Institution of Credit. Ed moved to Tehachapi with his wife, Mary Lee, 15 years ago from Los Angeles area. They were married 39 years before May Lee died in January of this year. Ed was an entrepreneur working in banking, real estate and investment for nearly 60 years. He also authored the book “The Art and Science of Real Estate Analysis” and taught night school at UCLA for 25 years. Ed ran for state assemblyman when he was 44 and was known for his public speaking abilities. He also was described as a political analyst and a corporate executive. He has also left behind friends and loved ones withing the community who remember him for his words of encouragement and kindness. His impact on their lives will not be forgotten. ED’s greatest hope and comfort in his last days, aside from being reunited with his beloved Mary Lee, was found in the words of Jesus Christ in John 14: 1- 3: “Let not your heart be troubled: believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s House are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you... Ed is survived by two daughters, Marian Jacobs of North Bellmore, N. Y. and Laura Devoe of Rockaway, N.Y.; his grandchildren, Richard Jacobs of Seaford, N.Y., Scott Jacobs of Oceanside, N.Y., Marian Conroy of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Max O’Brown of Rockaway, N.Y.; sister, Dorothy Finn of Palmdale; great- grandchildren Samantha and Hannah Jacobs of Seaford, N. Y. Although there will be no memorial service for Mr. Golden, per his wishes, we can forever remember him in our hearts as one who touched our lives in a very special, unique ways.
