Gloria Cortez Gonzales 
July 12, 1954 - Dec. 13, 2005 

Gloria was one of 14 siblings born to Miguel and Ernestina Cortez of 
Bakersfield, California. Gloria is preceded in death by her father Miguel and 
brother Patrick Cortez. She leaves behind her husband Joe Gonzales, daughters 
Carissa, and Alli Gonzales, Amorena Brooks, and grandchildren. Gloria touched 
many lives and made many friends while working 23 years as a braillist for the 
Kern County superintendent of Schools. Gloria was a 7 year cancer survivor. 
Many thanks to the staff at C.B.C.C., Hoffman Hospice, and Leo B. Hart School. 
Visitation Monday Dec. 19, 2005 from 4-8p.m. with rosary at 7:00p.m. at 
Funeraria Del Angel 4030 Wible Rd. Funeral Tuesday 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of 
Guadalupe Church, burial following at Union Cemetery.
