Conducting the service will be Pastor Michael Whitehead. Graveside services will follow immediately at Kern River Valley Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are by Lake Isabella Valley Mortuary. Peggy was born October 2, 1940 in Greeley, CO. She was raised in Ventura, CA where she graduated High School. In 1958 she married Robert Salyer. In 1963 she and her family moved to Lake Isabella. Peggy for many years was an avid sports enthusiast. Having excelled at Bowling, Trap Shooting, and her most beloved pastime, Golf, she was a winner of 4 Club Championships at Kern Valley Golf Club. An active member of the Kern Valley Women's Golf Club, she chaired many tournaments and devoted a great deal of time to club events. These activities allowed Peggy to meet many wonderful people who became great friends, many of whom she loved dearly. In more recent years, Peggy's condition prevented her from enjoying physical activity, but she was still able to enjoy working in the kitchen and on her computer. Combining the two, she wrote a fantastic cookbook and sold many copies. Peggy was preceded in death by her son, Kenny. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years Robert; her brother, Alvin Gaddis of Lake Isabella; her brother, Raymond Gaddis of Bixby, Oklahoma; her daughter, Kathy Dinsmore of Bakersfield, son-in-law, Layne Dinsmore; her son, David Salyer of Corona, daughter-in-law, Pennie Salyer; and her grandchildren, Jacob Dinsmore, Jacob's wife, Amy, Crystal Salyer, Crystal's fiancée, Adam Miller, Jennifer Salyer, Bobby Dinsmore and Rebecca Dinsmore. Visitation will be one hour before the services at the First Baptist Church, 10:00 a.m., on Friday, March 25. Additional Comments: Volunteer submission - No relation to deceased.
