Betty was born in Bakersfield to Helen and Bill Galyan and was the first of their four children. She graduated from Bakersfield High School in 1963 and attended Lufkins Business School. After working several years as a Legal Secretary she returned to earn her Bachelors Degree in Organizational Management from Northwest College in 1998. Betty had a love of music and theater and was known as an accomplished pianist and organist. She accompanied summer productions early in her life and later continued her studies of the piano. Her family always admired her ability to play beautifully at a first sitting. As a member of her church she participated in many activities throughout the years during her life in Seattle, Washington. Betty was a very loving and caring woman giving love to her family and extended family. She was predeceased by her father, Bill and her nephew, Mike Hughey. She is survived by her mother, Helen; two brothers and their wives, Chuck and Joan Galyan, Allan and Karen Galyan; a sister and brother-in-law, Robert and Pat Raburn; three nieces and their husbands, Julie and Tyler Pharo, Hayley and Justin Cruz, and Cheryl and Randy Jones; a nephew and his wife, David and Amy Galyan and all of the families.
