Mona Gamez
8/10/1959 - 4/28/2005

Visitation will be held Sunday from 3 to 9 p.m., May 1, 2005, at Hopson-
Anspach Mortuary with the Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass of 
Christian Burial will be held Monday, May 2, 2005, at St. Francis Catholic 
Church, at 10:00 a.m., for Mona Gamez, 45, who passed away on April 28, 2005. 
Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. 

Mona was born on August 10, 1959, in Bakersfield, Calfiornia. Mona was an 
employee of the Department of Motor Vehicles for 27 years, where she held 
various positions over the span of her employment. She loved going to the 
beach, she collected stuffed bears and Tinkerbell figures. She enjoyed 
watching Dodger and Lakes games, she also enjoyed music and attended many 
concerts. Mona was a very thoughtful and giving person and often took care of 
many of the children in the family. Mona will be greatly missed by her many co-
workers at the DMV.

Mona is survived by her mother, Peggy Barron; brothers, Jess Miranda (Sharon), 
Ben Miranda, Louie Gamez (Kim), Donald Gamez, Frank Gamez (Diana); sisters, 
Loraine Potter (Barry) and Marian Martinez; god parents, Helen Barron and 
Jesse Hernandez; 18 nieces and nephews, 6 great-nieces and nephews and 
numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Family would like to thank Judy Caras RN, and Four West at Mercy Hospital.
