Mary Allene Smith
Services: Sat., May 14, 2:00 p.m.

Memorial services for Mary Allene Smith will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, 
May 14, 2005 at Hillcrest Mortuary Chapel. 

Mary Allene Smith was born on October 7, 1923, in Tyler Texas, to J. Edward 
and Alpha Gans and passed away on May 8, 2005 in Bakersfield. Mary worked for 
25 years as an accounts payable supervisor with Tenneco Land Division. She was 
a member of the Alpha Zeta Beta Sorority, Lady Lions and Eastern Star.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Lewis R. Smith, III. Survivors are 
her sons, Lawrence Heckmann and wife, Judy, Gary Heckmann, Lew Smith IV and 
wife, Melissa; sister, Reta Bidwell and husband, Calvin; 8 grandchildren and 2 
great grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces. Mary was a loving and 
generous mother and grandmother.

A special thanks to Optimal Hospice, nurse Selina Sherman, Laurel Springs 
Staff with their special care, Charlie, Sonia and Spring Mom loved you. Dr. 
Robert Laughlin and staff. Doc she liked giving you a bad time, but loved you 
greatly. She credits you for her years with us. May God always be with you and 
your caring attitude with your patients.
