Kathleen, her three sisters and her brother grew up on the family citrus and avocado ranch in Saticoy. She graduated from Ventura Junior College where she played varsity tennis. Kathleen married William Darrell Stewart on March 15, 1941, in Ventura at the First Christian Church. She and Darrell and their three children moved to Bakersfield in 1956. Kathleen worked at Santa Fe Railroad as a steno clerk and later as the Yardmasters secretary-steno. She retired after twenty years and enjoyed years of golf, bingo, traveling and church activities. She also enjoyed helping out every holiday at her daughters flower shop. Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, William Darrell Stewart; her parents, Orlander and Irene Garman; her brother, Hewitt Garman and her daughter-in-law, Cathryn Ruth Stewart. She is survived by her three sisters, Geraldine Lincoln, Mildred Valentine and Betty Garman, all of Ventura, CA; her son, Ronald Stewart and his wife, Bonnie of Reno, Nevada; her daughter, Kay Hill and her husband, Jerry of Bakersfield; and her son, Robert Stewart and his wife, Jerilyn of Bakersfield. She is survived by her grandchildren, Bryan Hill and his wife, Stephanie, Kenneth Stewart, Keith Dickerson and his wife, Wendy, Kelly Dickerson, Spencer Stewart, Shelly Manning and her husband, Tony, Carrie Waltner and her husband, Seth, Jonathan Stewart, Dan Hurt and Taylor Hurt. Also great-grandchildren, Justin, Dillion and William Stewart, Taylor and Bryce Hill, Cathryn Manning and Josiah Waltner. Kathleen is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Oakdale Heights Senior Living, Skilled Nursing of Memorial Hospital, Optimal Hospice Care and Dr. Frank Chang for their loving care of our mother and grandmother. A special thanks to Debbie Powell, DJ Provence and Nikki Crabtree-Billiard for their devotion and love. We would also like to thank all of our friends for their support, care and prayers. Services will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Chapel, 3700 River Blvd., Friday, June 3, at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Kenny Souers will officiate. No visitation is scheduled.
