Joe also enjoyed coaching baseball, helping his nephew ride rough stock and teaching his nieces how to throw a rope. When he wasnt doing what he loved most, bow hunting and fishing, you could often catch him being a styling dummy for his daughter Kelly or a drawing canvas for Cody. He was working for CAZA Drilling, a job that he took pride in. He was with them for a year and a half. After years of struggle he finally found peace when he became a member of Hope Christian Center which he enjoyed attending regularly. He was a graduate of South High School, where he played football and baseball and was a member of the FFA. He was also very competitive in the California High School Rodeo Association, which he competed in every event. He met and married the love of his life, Stephanie Lessenden 12 years ago. Together they have three children, Kelly 10, Cody 8 and Mateo 3. He was met in heaven by his nephew, Justin Case Garside and his grandparents, Goldie and Joe Dick Garside. He is leaving behind to remember and be missed by his wife, Stephanie Garside; sons, Cody and Mateo; daughter, Kelly; mother and father, JE and Donna Garside; brothers, Bill Garside, John Garside and Natalie; nephews and nieces, John, Sabrena, Bailey, Shelby, Casey, Ivy, Andrew, Karissa, Braeden and Kaleb; in-laws, Tim and Susie Lessenden; sister-in-law, Katrina Atienzo; grandparents, Bud and Irene Zollinger; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and way to many friends to mention. JOE - we all love you and are proud of the man you worked so hard to become. Dont worry, we will all help take care of Stephanie and the kids. Officiating will be Bill Woods. Pallbearers will be Lil John Garside, Jared Smith, Steve Colunga, Marshall Baker, Mike Hernandez, Gary Oats, Tim Turner and Robbie Sugie Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be, Lil man Mateo Atienzo, Cody Garside, Tim Lessenden, JE Bill, John Garside, Ryan Dobbs, Delbert Aldridge, Butch Zollinger and Adam Netherton. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, at Greenlawn Southwest Mortuary, 2739 Panama Ln.. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2005 at Hope Christian Center, 201 E. Brundage Ln. with interment to follow at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Park. A reception will follow at the Hope Christian Center. The family suggests that a memorial contribution be sent to the Hope Christian Center in memory of Joe Garside for his children, 201 E.
