Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Monday, June 27, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery. Amelia Garza was born in Del Rio, Texas on August 17, 1932 and has lived in Bakersfield, California since 1968. Amelia loved to work. There was no job she started that she didnt complete. Furthermore she loved to gamble and the Casinos is where she was, once she retired. There was never a dull moment when Amelia was around. Full of spunk and laughter, our Meli! Amelia was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Garza and son, Mario Alberto Garza; and she is survived by her daughters, Cecilia Garcia of Bakersfield and Margie Saldivar of San Angelo, TX; sister, Tina Garcia of Fortworth, TX; grandchildren, Vicki Garcia, Jennifer Onsurez, Misty Garcia, Carlos Ramirez, Richard Ramirez, Michelle Velez, Kimberly Garza Herrera and Crystal Garza all of Bakersfield, Valerie Chavez of Abilene, TX, Melinda Paredez, Starla Salazar, and Oscar Saldivar, II of San Angelo, TX and Celeste Smith of San Antonio, TX; 25 great- grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Bakersfield Heart Hospital, especially Molly, Danny, Laura, and Marilyn from CCU for their tremendous care provided during Amelias stay. God Bless You!
