After an 18-month courageous battle with cancer Michelle left us on August 3rd, 2004, to go home to Heaven. Those who were lucky enough to know Michelles sweet, gentle and caring nature will forever be spiritually richer in their lives. She loved life and all of Gods creatures. Michelle was especially blessed with her close loving family. Her mother Pat raised Michelle, two sisters and one brother alone. Michelle and her siblings drew strength from their mothers persevering work ethics. She was very successful in all her personal career challenges. In November 1984 Michelle and her husband, Charles decided to open Art Express at the Ice House. Like every other business venture, she turned it into a very successful art and accessory gallery. Her frequent interior designers and loyal customers loved her artistic eye and innate sense for interior décor. Michelles home also reflected her wonderful taste for making ones home beautiful. She was most comfortable surrounded by her family, friends and her numerous cats. Even though Michelle is no longer with us in person, her sweet spirit and thoughtful love for everyone she touched will always be with us lucky ones that knew her. Michelle is survived by her husband and long time soul mate, Charles Davis; her mother, Patricia Franklin; sisters, Pamula Booghier and Kathy Stevens; brother, Joseph Tobens and his wife, Sharon. In lieu of flowers it is requested donations be made to Hoffman Hospice for their special and wonderful care at 5300 California Ave., Suite 1, Bakersfield, CA 93309. Friends will be welcomed to visit her home on Thursday, August 5, between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. with a service at 6:00 p.m. Additional Comments: Volunteer submission - No relation to deceased.
