Wayne Scott Turnipseed
April 27, 1933 July 30, 2004

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 7, 2004, at 
the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 5500 Fruitvale Ave. A 
graveside dedication will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Wayne was born 
April 27, 1933 in Weiser, Idaho. He moved to Bakersfield in 1975 and worked as 
a mechanical engineer for 27 years, retiring from Chevron-Texaco in 1989. 

Wayne is survived by his wife, Dorothy; 2 children, Michael Turnipseed and 
Vickie Ricks; 8 grandchildren, Jaylene and Justin Turnipseed, and Celeste, 
Christian, Adam, Angela, Daniel and Bethany Ricks; 2 brothers, Bart and Loren 
Turnipseed; and 2 sisters, Edna Coulter and Jane Richards.

Wayne enjoyed fishing, golfing, tennis and the great outdoors. He also loved 
to travel the world with his wife and he especially loved spending time with 
his grandchildren. He was surrounded by the love of his family throughout his 
battle with cancer which ended on July 30, 2004.
