Maurice Samuel ‘Sam’ Miller 

Oct. 3, 1924 – July 25, 2004

Maurice Samuel Miller "Sam," 79, of Tehachapi, passed away on Sunday, July 25 
at Memorial Hospital in Bakersfield.

Sam was born Oct. 3, 1924, in Oakdale. After his service in the Navy during 
World War II, Sam earned a degree in education. He was a teacher and an 
administrator with the public school system as well as supervisor of education 
with the California Youth Authority.

Sam is survived by his wife, Kathleen Miller; daughters, Marilyn Stokes, Sammy 
Rensch, Vivian Sorrell, Suzanne Coster, Melinda Sheller, and their husbands; 
seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his 
brother Tom Miller and sister Evelyn Hawkins.

A memorial service will be held at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park in Camarillo 
on Aug. 13 at 11 a.m. with a luncheon to follow at Las Posas Country Club. 

Wood Family Funeral Service handled the cremation arrangements.
