Pete was born on Dec. 12, 1915, in Cipio, Okla. to Albert and Edna Sanders. Pete had enough love for everyone who would receive it from him. He willingly gave up things in his life for the good of others. What he had to give did not come from an extensive formal education, but from a life of learning and then sharing. Whether it was fruit and vegetables from his garden, honey from his bees, fishing tackle from his numerous tackle boxes, sharing from his wealth of wisdom or taking time to help someone in need, Pete would "lay down" or give up his life for others. When you had the privilege of being alone with Pete Sanders, you got his full attention, devotion and work. Pete will be remembered by many for his very giving nature, whether you were a neighbor who needed a tractor, a grandchild in need of a fishing lesson, or family and friends in need of a pair of hands to help out. Pete is survived by his wife of 34 years, Martha Sanders of Tehachapi; daughter, Carol Conrad of Colorado Springs, Colo.; step-children, Diane Alexander of Tehachapi, Arden Johnson of Fresno, Sanya Sweeney and Tanya Bachik, both of Bakersfield; grandchildren, Jason, Matthew, Tom, Trevor, Jared, Joel, Jody, Traci, and Krista; great-grandchildren, Gage, Brendan, Zoe, and Gracie; brothers, Joe Sanders of Hindsville, Ark., Melvin Sanders of Newport Beach, Dee Sanders of Gardnerville, Nev., Bob Sanders and Chester Sanders, both of Wesley, Ark.; sisters, Frances Gage and Mary Jane Gage, both of Elkins, Ark.; and many nieces and nephews. Elder Walter Petree of the Missionary Baptist Church in Mojave officiated at the service. Interment followed at Tehachapi Public Cemetery, Eastside. Wood Family Funeral Service handled the arrangements. Additional Comments: Volunteer submission - No relation to the deceased.
