Father Ralph Belluomini and the Kern County Associated Veterans will officiate. Dominick McNearney was born on August 6, 1925 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He was a U.S. citizen and joined the United States Army while still in Ireland and served his country in the Military Police during World War II. During his service, he received numerous medals and commendations. It was after his military service that Dominick came to the United States settling first in New York and then in Bakersfield. Dominick worked for many years as a pipe fitter on jobs all around the country. And for over 55 years was a proud member of the Southern California Pipe Fitters Union Local 114. He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge No. 266 and American Legion Post 130. Dominick was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Margaret McNearney; sisters, Rita Alston, Elizabeth Drake; brothers, Ronald, Gerard and Michael McNearney. He is survived by his sister, Kathleen Collins of Redding; sisters- in-law, Lois and Lenore McNearney and Barbara McNearney Corfmann of Huntsville, AL. Also longtime friend, Anita Hicks of South Carolina; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Cambridge Hills and Evergreen convalescent facilities.
