Doris Laverne Pittman
August 25, 1926 August 4, 2004

Graveside services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the Arvin Cemetery, 
for Doris Laverne Pittman who passed away in Bakersfield. Doris was born in 
McAlister, Oklahoma and moved to Arvin in 1945. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Ruth Jackson and her 
husband, Steve Pittman. She is survived by her sisters, Virginia Kirkley of 
Bakersfield, Wanda Bristow of Farmington, NM, Helen and husband, Don Jennings, 
Jackie and husband, John Kuykendall and brother, Morris Jackson all of 
McAlister, OK; her children, daughter, Linda Wright and husband, John of 
Bakersfield; daughter, Nancy Madera of Arroyo Grande; son, Ron Pittman and 
wife, Vicki of Parachute, CO; also 7 grandchildren, Traci Zard, Kreg Norris, 
Andrea Matevousian, Amy Johnson, Brian Pittman, Haylee Pittman and Garland 
Pittman; 6 great-grandchildren.

Doris was a lifelong member of the Southern Baptist Church in Arvin. She loved 
the church and her church family. Her children would like to thank her 
caregivers at Evergreen Arvin.
