Phyllis was born in Alexandria, Indiana and moved to Fresno, California at 8 years of age. In 1968, she and her husband moved to Bakersfield to open up several Happy Steak Restaurants, as well as Perkos Coffee Shop in Bakersfield and Delano. Phyllis was an amazing wife, caring mother and loving Grandma and Great-Grandma. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Lewis; daughter, Janell Priddy and Rick; sons, Larry and wife, Sherry and Kenneth Hicks. She was blessed with grandchildren, Jennifer Baird and husband, Clint, Nikki Smith and husband, George, Chad Brown and wife, NiCole, Sarah Schneider and husband, Jason, Erica and Brittany Hicks, Sean, Heath, and Tyler Patterson, Kevin and Bobbi Priddy and Kristen and Grant Gee. The joy of her last 6 years has been her great- grandbabies, Ashley and Clayton Bailey, Hunter Baird, Caleb Brown and Austin Gee. She loved to spend time with family and loved ones, as well as her church family. She has left us to be with the Lord and has been a wonderful example of a Godly Wife, Mother, Grandma, Great-Grandma and Friend. She will be dearly missed by all those who have known her. In lieu of flowers the family would like to ask that donations be made in honor of her name to First Church of the Nazarene Family Life Center at 2801 Hughes Lane, Bakersfield, Ca 93304.
