Jerri Kay Sullivan will officiate. Luther was born on November 27, 1914, to George and Myrtle Long in Farris, OK and was raised by his stepmother, Edith Long. Luther resided in the Buttonwillow area most of his adult life and was loved by the community. He will be missed greatly. His father, mother and stepmother; brothers, Curtis and Norman Long; his daughter, Shirley and his son and wife, Kenneth and Mary Lou Long, preceded him in death. His wife, Anne Long of Buttonwillow; his granddaughters, Carol Ann Bigham, Galen Van Winkle, Vikki Long, Tammy Hansen; and grandsons, Johnny, Richard, Jamie Van Winkle and Kenny Wayne Long, survive Luther. Luther was the proud great-grandfather of 22 children and 9 great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews. Graveside commitment services will be held Wednesday, August 11, 2004, 10:00 a.m., at the Shafter Cemetery.
