Eddie was a very hardworking, self-employed welder for over 40 years. He was a perfectionist in every aspect of his life. He was artistic and welded many beautiful things. Eddie served his country in the Navy during WWII and served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He loved the Lord and was a member of First Southern Baptist Church for many years. He and his wife had the pleasure of teaching 4 year olds in Sunday School. Eddie was an active member of the Tehachapi Masonic Lodge #313 and was proud to be a 32nd Degree Mason. He loved to play golf and was pleased to have made a hole-in-one. He was a skilled hunter and fisherman. A dream come true when he tagged a record Caribou Gordon in Alaska. Eddie was an accomplished bowler. He bowled in the service league at Freddies Top of the Hill for years and bowled many perfect and near perfect games. The most important thing in Eddies life was his family. He was an exceptionally devoted and loving Husband, Father and Grandpa. He was physically strong, brave, loyal and had a tender heart. Eddie never met a stranger. When you met him, you felt like you had known him for years. He had a great sense of humor and an uncanny knack for remembering and telling jokes. In the past two years and especially the last two weeks, simple tasks of daily living were a struggle and he was in tremendous pain. He is with Jesus now, where he is whole again and there is no pain. He was loved more than anyone can ever imagine. He will be missed terribly and will be in our hearts forever. Eddie is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joyce of Tehachapi; daughters, Sharon Boyles and husband, Charlie of Bakersfield, and Joyce Freeman of Mt. Aukum, CA; sons, Donn Sheldon and wife, Lyn of Fallon, NV, and Steve Mosher of Oregon City, OR; grandchildren, Brandon and Bridgette Sheldon, Chad and Ben Boyles, Darren and Jeff Rich and Jennifer Dooley; great-granddaughter, Stephanie; and many nieces, nephews and friends including his very special, longtime friend, Bob Azevedo. A memorial service will be held for Eddie on Saturday, August 14, 2004, 3:00 p.m., at Stallion Springs Community Church, 18157 St. Andrews Dr. If you wish, in lieu of flowers, the family would like to request that donations in honor of Eddie be made to the Shriners Childrens Hospital or the charity of your choice. Golfers, please come as you are. It doesnt matter what you wear, it just really matters that youre there.
