Calciano Jr. May 21, 1932 August 17, 2004 Services: Fri., Aug. 20, 11:30 a.m. Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Park, 2739 Panama Ln., Friday, August 20, 2004, at 11:30 a.m., for Ben F. Calciano Jr., 72, who passed away August 17, 2004, in Bakersfield. Rev. Tom Alexander and the Associated Veterans of Kern County will officiate. Ismael Gonzales his brother-in-law is a member of that association. Ben was born May 21, 1932 in Van Nuys and resided in Kern County for 57 years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran stationed on board the U.S.S. Hornet from 1951-1955 during the Korean Conflict. He was a trucker and dispatcher for 40 years and was last employed with Pan Pacific petroleum. Ben was preceded in death by his parents, Ben Calciano Sr. and Mary Calciano; sister, Marion Gorrindo; and his special bud, Gizmo. Survivors include his wife, Vangie (Evangeline) Calciano; sons and daughters-in-law, Nick and Kristen Calciano all of Bakersfield, and Tony and Rose Calciano of Cool, CA; daughters and son-in-law, Barbara Hoffman, and Jeanette and Tom Alexander all of Bakersfield; stepson, Roman Lara III and wife, Susan; stepdaughter, Tiffany Brandenburg and husband, Wayne all of Bakersfield; fifteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Tina Elder and husband, Paul of Lancaster; mother- in-law, Maria De Jesus Gonzales of Bakersfield; and 11 brothers and sisters-in- law and their spouses. A very special thanks to his many friends and co-workers and especially to Odyssey Hospice Staff.
